With expansive glass façades framing the surrounding tropical landscape, the home achieves a seamless connection between architecture and nature. The exterior surfaces and beams were clad with Covet Plank in Oku Finish, chosen for its rich wood tone and unparalleled resistance to the demanding coastal environment.
The Art of Coastal Living in Miami Beach
The decision to incorporate Covet went beyond aesthetics it was a technical and environmental statement. Crafted with advanced Japanese technology, Covet offers the warmth of natural wood with the durability of engineered innovation. Resistant to humidity, salt exposure, and UV rays, it ensures lasting beauty without the need for maintenance, making it ideal for South Florida’s tropical conditions. The Plank profile accentuates the verticality of the design, reinforcing a sense of balance, order, and sophistication across every façade.
Extending beyond the walls, Covet Beams were integrated into the Overhang Ceilings, creating architectural continuity while providing functional shade and visual depth. To achieve the client’s design intent, two Covet profiles measuring 2×6 were skillfully combined to form a 4×6 configuration, resulting in a more substantial and visually balanced composition. Each beam was precisely joined and anchored to the wall using concealed aluminum angle brackets, ensuring long-term stability while maintaining the sleek, uninterrupted appearance that defines the residence. The beams share the same Oku finish, reinforcing a cohesive material language that unites every façade and architectural surface across the project.
Inside and out, the project captures the spirit of contemporary Miami design open, luminous, and in constant dialogue with its surroundings. Every texture and proportion was carefully considered to reflect the rhythm of coastal living, blending modern minimalism with natural elegance. The result is a residence that feels both timeless and effortless, embodying the essence of serenity by the sea.
